The challenges posed by climate change, digitalization, and demographic shifts call for fundamental structural adjustments. The Faculty of Spatial Development and Infrastructure Systems actively drives this societal transformation through its teaching, research, and knowledge transfer. Key areas of focus include the energy transition, mobility, water management, climate adaptation strategies, open space and landscape planning, as well as digital innovation.
TH Köln has established the Centre for Innovation with Nature (CEIN), a research and transfer infrastructure dedicated to enhancing climate resilience and promoting sustainable resource management. Serving as a transdisciplinary real-world laboratory in the Rhineland region, CEIN fosters innovation and advances the development of a European model region for energy and resource security.
