Your area of work
You will teach the modules Competence Development (Kompetenzerweiterung) and English Translation at various levels of proficiency in the Bachelor's programme in Multilingual Communication and, if required, to a lesser extent also modules in the field of Specialised Translation and Transcreation in the Master's programme in Multilingual Specialised Communication and Specialised Translation at the Institute of Translation and Multilingual Communication. You will hold courses in German and English. You will conduct examinations and supervise and assess written theses. You will actively participate in the further development of modules relevant to your field of teaching, as well as in the self-administration of the faculty and in the institute management.

Your profile
You have a master's degree in languages or foreign languages, a qualification in foreign language teaching (TEFL qualification: DELTA certificate or Diploma in TEFL) and at least four years of relevant professional experience in the areas mentioned.
Ideally, you will already have experience of teaching at a university. You have the ability to align your own thinking and actions with the long-term goals of the university, as well as the ability to reliably develop solutions in an interdisciplinary and collaborative manner.
You are a native speaker of English or have native-level proficiency in the language and, ideally, have lived in an English-speaking country for an extended period of time. Experience or a focus of interest in innovative, interdisciplinary and project-based teaching/learning methods – especially with regard to current technologies in language-related artificial intelligence – would be an advantage.
You have expertise in Anglophone language contexts (preferably in the field of ‘Global Englishes’) and the ability to competently integrate international and transcultural aspects into your teaching.
The position is classified in the pay grade 13 TV-L, full-time (39.83 hours/week with a teaching load of 20 SWS/ semester hours).
